Zoo York Clothing Zoo York began sometime in the late 1970's with the graffiti and skateboarding explosion that was happening in New York at the time. Whilst Graf artists were bombing the Manhattan street, Rodney Smith and Bruno Musso were starting the legendary Shut Skateboards in 1986 which filled the void to provide local skatboarders with the unique product they seeked.

Zoo York began as Shut Skateboards closed its doors in 1991 and Rodney began to put the word on the street about this venture. Cut to 1993, now with 3 partners, Rodney, Eli Morgan Gessner as designer and Adam Schatz as the financial backing, Zoo York began to spread to the world.

Zoo York to this day is still continuing to grow its family of old and new school skateboarders, NYC graf artists, BMX'ers, Motocrossers and cross over board sports.

Zoo York was the name of a underground New York city tunnel which was home to graffiti artists and hippies back in the 1970s.The Zoo York tunnel has now inspired a style, a new look a new beginning Zoo York has transformed from an urban graffiti skating subculture into a world wide line of clothing,footwear,hats and now has bmx and skating teams.Originaly created by J. Walter Negro or Ali as he's also known as, gave zoo york its graffitti and old school hip/hop element.Zoo York is now owned by Mark Ecko himself.

ZOO YORK HISTORY

Zoo York have been creating and distributing skateboards since 1993 they also have been making customised skate shoes for differernt skaters on their team.It was the 3 great minds of Rodney Smith, Eli Morgan Gessner and Adam Schatz when the three of them relised that Zoo York was becoming an enormous success they spread to custom pants,hoodies that brought the skateboarding element to life and now world wide. Zoo York today is universaly known for their urban skate wear but still remain true to the 70s subculture scene. In the 80s the term Zoo York was a banner,a flag to unite all new york skaters/punks/rappers/b boys/hippies which has to still to be admired. All Zoo York products are sold in hundreds of thousands of stores all over the world and will remain a huge success for a long time.

Zoo York is now a huge recognised brand of clothing of all sorts of jackets,hats,hoodys,zippers, t shirts, jeans, footwear. Zoo York now stock thousands of websites which are easy to access. The Zoo Yorks skate team is so well known and hugely admired around the world. Zoo York will always remain heavily infuenced and part of the surk/skate graffitti hip/hop urban culture. Zoo York also has a skate, bmx and surf team their skate team in made up of five pro riders Zered Bassett,Donny Barley,Aaron Suski,Kevin Tayler and Forest Kirby and their amature team is made up of Matt Miller,Anthony Shetler,Lamare Hemmings,Ron Deily and Brandon Westgate their skating has been an inspiration to skate communities everywhere. Thier bmx team is made up of three pro riders Edwin De La Rosa,Vinnie Sammon,Ruel Smith. The surf team consists of Mike Millin,Pat Millin,Nick Jiampa,Will Skudin,Jun Jo,Robert Wurlitzer,Ben McBrien. Events and demos are held around the world where you will see these names and riders. Zoo York continues to be one of the largest sponsors in x sports and in street clothing.
